Recordings of Monthly Yacht Club Meetings (viewable to members only)

Most monthly club meetings during the pandemic (April 2020 until April 2022) were held on zoom. Between May 2022 and May 2023, presentations were hybrid, in-person as well as live streamed. Since then, meetings have been in-person only with all presentations recorded.
The recordings are listed below, newest on top.

Officially protected only in 2016, the Great Bear Rainforest is the largest intact temperate rainforest in the world and extends more than 300 mi north to south and from the mainland to the offshore islands. It supports all of the original land and marine fish and wildlife species including the ‘spirit bear’, sea wolves, grizzly bear, sea otters, Pacific whale species, Pacific salmon, and diverse seabirds. The small human population are mostly of Indigenous bands. They have fought to conserve this vast wilderness and are now leading in sustaining it. This program will touch on the nature and peoples of this fascinating place and tips for cruising its waters.
Andy Hansen is a professor of Ecology at Montana State University in Bozeman. He and his wife Nora Martin are CYC members and have enjoyed numerous voyages in the Great Bear Rainforest.
